Default 315/70R17s with a teraflex leveling kit?

So, I put on the teraflex leveling kit on my 09 4dr rubi, and I love the way it looks. I live in the northeast, with a lot of snow and [U]ice[U]. I've heard the stock bfg MT's suck on hard packed snow and ice, so I want to get some duratracs. I would go with the 285/70R17's but they are load range D, and I've heard that means they'll be very stiff. Could I fit 315/70R17's (load range C, actual diameter is 34.4, according to goodyear) with the leveling kit and new soft 8's with 4.5 backspacing? Or should I just deal with the load range D's?

Their website may have some info on this kit...

A simple but effective leveling kit that adds height enough to use up to 305/65 R18 or 305/70 R17
You can run a 33-34" tall tire with this kit. If you prefer to run the factory wheels as shown on the red Unlimited, you may need wheel spacers for proper clearance.
So yes, you can bolt them on, but chances are you will rub. Trim the fenders, bring the steer stops in, add a body lift, don't flex, etc. You have options if you want to run them anyway.

I was thinking of going this route a while back, but luckily i finally got my bonus, so i splurged a little and got a 3 inch lift. But when i was planing this, i was going to do what you are talking about then get the rough country body lift. There will be a gap, but then you can do a bumper mod to fix this.

Search; Short bus bumper body lift mod,
or something like that, his is a red 2 door if i recall correctly.

I just realized what you were asking, i think you could fit what ever kind of 35 you wanted (not the kevlar, i think they run big or something) but of course it would rub at flex.

The315/70R17 tires are equivalent to a 35x12.5R17.

On a wheel with 4.5" of backspacing you should clear depth wise with either the C or D range tire, although the stiffer D's will bulge less.

I have this size tire, and ran without any type of lift for a short while. These almost 35s ran fine on my daily driver when I was alone, but rubbed at the rear with buddies aboard. I then added a TF 2.5" spring lift and highly recommend this, now no rubbing anywhere on trails and/or loaded up, and great ride.

Point of the story, you can clear 35s with little-to-no lift but depends how use the Jeep.

They will rub on full lock. They will rub on full stuff. They will rub if you load cargo.

You need to trim the flares, bend the pinch seam in on the rear, and add washers to the turnstops.
