Default Can I use lockers?

Hi guys, I have an 2009 Wrangler X , 6 speed, 3.21 ratio with the stock limited slip differental both front and rear. I don't have a lot of experence with off road trucks so my question is will the wheel lockers installed override the limited slip feature of the axles and create a situation where the wheel will not slip and turn in concert with the opposing wheel of that axle? I am considering them but don't want to waste a lot of time and money on something that won't work. I appreciate any input that will help.

Lockers would be a benefit for you. No LSD ever made will give you the off-road performance that selectable lockers will.

But there are a lot of other things that I would look at before getting lockers. They are not cheap, and there are a lot of options out there. Spend some time reading here, wheel your Jeep, and do some research.

There's nothing wrong with wheeling a stock Jeep (or just putting on a few cheap Rubi take-offs) for the first year.

As I thought I don't know enough yet to make a decision on something so important. Thanks for the input. I will continue to do my research and read the great advise found here.

Are you planning on going to larger tires (35" +)?

If so, while installing lockers, you might as well regear the differentials to accomodate the larger tires.

It's less expensive if done at the same time.

I doubt I will go to a tire larger than a 35". My plans are to go to a 305 X 70 X 17 Goodyear MT/R Kevlar when my current 255's are worn down but that will be some time yet. My question was generated by an idea that I could improve the tractive effort of my Wrangler X by using aftermarket lockers. Perhaps I would be better served by spending my limited funds on skid plates and an Old Man Emu 2"lift.
Thanks again for all the good input.
