Is there any advantage to 7100's over 5100's? They both are offerered with the same valving and either can be had with a remote reservoir. Not sure what the difference is.....piston diamteter maybe?

They also have a short body shock that seems like it would have it's uses. 12 inches of travel and only 16 inches compressed....

The 5100s are mainly designed for on/off road vehicles many of which are lifted.

The 7100s are designed to minimize fade for vehicles with less lift but that face heavier cyclic loads offroad like prerrunners and sand buggies.

The last time I checked the 7100s they were almost twice the price of the 5100s.

Did you find a good deal on the 7100s?

for the 12 inch shock ive seen it as low as 135, the short body is more expensive around 180.....
