Default Yep, another 15in. steel wheel thread...got some different questions though.

O.K. so I thought I'd buy 1 Pro Comp 15x8 steelie to see if/how it fits. It fit pretty well, just the inner parts of a few of the 8 stamped holes slightly rub the caliper, nothing a flap wheel or light grinding won't solve, I'm past all that. The rubbing was so slight that the few times I rotated the wheel i think the interference wore itself away.

Onto the questions: #1) I ordered a newer PCW98-5873 or "98" series wheel but was shipped an older PCW97-5873 or "97" series wheel. Anybody out there actually get a 98 series wheel and if so how did it fit? Most websites only offer or refer to the "98" series including Pro Comp's website.

#2) Being new to steel wheels this may be a dumb question as I realize these have been used for years on Jeeps....I noticed that the back mounting surface of the wheel is not flat and does not sit flat on the axle hub, in other words, the area behind the mounting holes is raised and does not sit flat against the hub. Is this the way all steel wheels are? I thought all wheels should mount flat against the mounting surface....these dont.

Thanks for anyone's input.

I had a 2 sets of 15's; one were steel and one alloys and they both worked fine with no rubbing.

Not seeing your exact situation it is hard to say, but as long as it is the same all the way around it should be fine.

Hope that helps!

I ordered 15x10 "Series 98's" online and got a phone call from the sales guy who confirmed they were "Series 98's" but alas no wheels and tires yet.

I'll let you know as soon as I get them if they're actual 98's.

Great, thanks. Hopefully you'll get the 98's and they'll fit without rubbing. I have a feeling the warehouse that dropshipped mine may be substituting out the old ones to get rid of older inventory.
