Rubicon Express vs. Clayton 4.5" Coil Springs...any experience or thoughts? Not looking at the lift kit ONLY the springs.

Trying to decide between the two coil springs. What if anything would make one better than the other.

Ngineer may chime in inabit, maybe he'll give some feedback on his RE. Alot of peeps seem to be happy with their Clayton's too. Haven't heard much on either's prob with springs, short arms vs long arms on a kit make a difference in ride quality that can make up for stiffer springs.

I have been on Clayton 4.5" springs for 6 months now, with nothing to complain about.

Am I starting to get a reputation? My 4.5" springs are stout and as advertised, I have 4.5" of lift. The jeep also sits level +/- 1/8" between front and back and oddly enough, even with a full tank of gas, the passenger side is MAYBE 1/8" lower than the driver, and thats a lean 1/8". It really isnt even noticeable, but as we on here are all anal about things, I had to measure it... When it was first installed, it sat at about 4.75" but settled to 4.5" I've also noticed that after it settles to the 4.5" of height, it takes A LOT of weight on either the front or back to get any sag. I've been very happy with my springs.

Hell, it's good to have at least one or two people to be able to chime in on re threads, more than that run it on here, but they don't post.

So if I am reading the posts correct neither would be a bad choice. It may just be an issue as to which manufacturer can get it to me quicker.

Is there any truth to the statements I have seen that there is one spring manufacturer, Elbach, that make the vast majority of springs sold by aftermarket companies?

If so, does each aftermarket retailer just specify a lil' different spring rate from the manufacturer?
