Wanted to see if anyone was running these tires and what they thought of them? They're a pretty reasonably priced tire and just thought some of you could give me some feedback? Also really what is the main difference in a 315/70/17 and a 35/12.50/17 except that the 315's are a lot cheaper? From looking at the tire charts they are pretty close to the same size and I've run both in the past?

 

Is there not anyone running these tires?

 

The KL71 is a good tire. Other than size the 315's are D (8ply) rated and the 35's are E (10 ply) rated.

What are you looking for in a tire? I'd be happy to make a recommendation.

I've looked mostly at the KM2's, Kumho's, Cooper's, and the Firestone's. I definately want a 35 or 315 and this is going to be a daily driver with very little offroading (except for some hunting) but very little "rock crawling". I for sure want the look of a mud tire though. Thanks for the response!

 

Have you looked at the new Nitto Trail Grapplers? These are only about $10.00 more per tire than the Kumhos in 35x12.50-17 and they're getting fantastic reviews right now. Nitto is Toyo's sister company so a lot of the same technology is used for both. I haven't driven on a set of the new Trail Grapplers yet but I have riden in a few rigs with them. I was supprised with how quiet they are for an MT from what I have seen so far they are wearing very well for people too. I hunt and fish myself and I currently have a set of 35" Mud Grapplers. I've been very pleased with them offroad and I am planning on running the new Trail Grapplers next due to them being a bit quieter and they are supposed to have a stronger sidewall as well.

If these are a bit much for you still and you have some time before you need to make your purchase I'd also recommend looking into the new Goodyear DuraTac. Most of the DuraTac sizes are on back order due to the demand but if you can get your hands on a set they are an exceptionally versital tire. I consider them an AT/MT hybrid. Goodyear is building them in the 315/70R17 but if I remember correctly I think they are on backorder in this size for a few weeks.

Unless you just want a tire apart from the crowd, you can't go wrong with the KM2s.
