Default opinions on Maxxis BigHorn

I plan on getting some spidertrax spacers and some 33 inch tires for my X before I get a lift. I do not wheel excessively. Just some trail rides once a month or so.

Jeep is a DD and I am a college student paying loans ha. Looking for a cheap 33 mudder that will last a long time.

I really like the Maxxis BigHorn 285/70R17. I thought about the 305, but that's a 34 and I worry about rubbing.

Anyone run these and are they good in the snow as well?

I have the 33" Bighorns and I have been very happy with them(12,000 miles). They are very good on and off road, and excellent in the rain for an MT. Only been in the snow once with them and they did fine on the roads and parking lots of Banner Elk NC on a ski trip! For the price they perform very well.

I have the 285s on my TJ and love them so I immediately went to 305s on my JK after lifting it. Good wear, great traction, very affordable. Cant say enough good about the Bighorns...

I had them... good tire but there are some draw backs. They will chunk on you when rock crawling. They wear quickly as I only got 23k miles out of them. That said, they are great in the mud.

I don't rock crawl. More of a DD with muddy trail rides.

Lol. You could sell tires with those videos ha.

I probably will get the Maxxis, but I need to find a dealer locally so I wont have to order online and then bring them to a place to have them installed. I plan on no lift for a while... so...

Another +1 for the Big Horns. I ran 255/85's for two years on my old truck and got about 35k miles out of them. Theyre cheap, they work great in mud, they're siped so they work ok in snow and rain - BUT, you should re-sipe them after about 10k miles. Theyre a tad quieter than the KM's, but were also a little bit more difficult to balance.

Once my 315/75 Procomps are worn, I'll be getting a set of 315/75 Big Horns.

Picked up a set of 315/75/16's (34.6x12.80) today for $179 at Discount Tire - fantastic price when compared to $280 for the KM2 or MT/R Kevlar. (though the mtr was never really in the running, that's just an odd looking MT tire... )

Now I need to find enough time to get out and see what they'll do.
