OK, X-mas has come and gone. Now it's time to think about maybe upgrading the brakes on the JK. If everyone out there could do this what would you purchase and why?. The Factory ones feel somewhat weak.

 

id hold off for the teraflex brake kit, bc i like TF products.

 

TF is coming out with a bigger caliper kit. Pricey, but looks nice.

There's a company with slotted rotors for the JK now, on Quadratec.

EBC and Hawk have pads for the JK.

 

I think the brakes on the JK are fine. What is your definition of weak.

If I put the pedal down hard the abs kicks in, so why would you need more.

If I am off road I have plenty of brake to stop this thing.

 

I think if you running stock tires the brakes are fine. But if your running a heavy 35x12.5 you might be looking for a little more bite to return the brakes back to something closer to the stock performance

 

X2, with 35"+ tires and the stock brakes suffer, add in armor, gear, maybe a small camper or trailer and the stock brakes are lacking big time.

 

That's exactly right. 4.5" lift/ 35" tires and all the other hooplahh that goes with it does take away from the factory brakes. I was thinking maybe Brembo had an application for JK but at first look it seems that they do alot for high performance cars and not much for off road applications
