Tire Carrier and Bumper vs Beefing up the tailgate?
I'm going to get 35's soon and I'm concerned about what people have said about the tailgate not being able to handle the 35 inch tire. Problem is I don't have the funds for a steel bumper and tire swing, so I'm looking at beefing up the tailgate with these products instead:

Does anyone have experience with these products? How have they held up? Is the tire swing really the only option?
Thanks!

The relocation bracket is going to do more harm than good, because it moves the tire further away from the tailgate, which gives it more leverage against the Jeep as you go up & down over bumps.
The last link, to the reinforcing kit, may help. For only 30 bucks it's pretty inexpensive to give it a shot, so it couldn't hurt.
If your Jeep is just a daily driver, you'd be fine for a while with the 35 on there, but if you are off road a lot, the bumps and rough terrain will beat up the tailgate faster.

I use my Jeep mostly as a daily driver so I don't see the need to upgrade to a new bumper and tire carrier quite yet (although it will happen eventually).
I would definitly stay away from the relocation bracket as 'horwitzs' mentioned. It will definitly do more harm than good. My spare tire actually rests nicely on the stock bumper, which probably takes away alot of the potential movement.
Hope this helps in your decision.
Thanks guys. My jeep is mostly a street warrior, but it will be on some trails a couple times a month once the snow melts. Sounds like I may be able to get away with just the new bump stops and re-inforcer kit.
Now if I can just figure out how to fit my bike rack on there
Any other thoughts?

Check out the Or Fab carrier which works with your stock bumper. It will hold the 35 with no issues and take the stress off your tailgate. Costs under $500.
BTW, I would be very cautious hanging a bike rack on the spare 35 if you are only using reinforcements and still putting the weight on your tailgate.
