Shrockworks vs ARB bumpers
Yes, another bumper thread. I've read so many bumper posts over the past couple weeks my brain is mush.
After starting with ARB, LoD, Shrockworks, and RR as possibilities, I've narrowed it down to ARB and Shrockworks mid-width - based on looks and various threads.
Any comments on these particular ones? (I'll be getting a winch later, haven't done much research on them other than I want a Warn, and the PowerPlants with the air compressors seem sweet)
(probably will end up with a rear bumper later in the year too, the shrockworks rear looks nicer than the ARB pics I've seen)

It looks like I'm not the only one torn between the two. The Shockworks seems like its high quality built and uses thicker metal but, I haven't been able to put my hands or eyes on one.
I've had an ARB in the past and loved it. The quality was great and the powder coat never chipped. I guess I’ve answered my own dilemma. However, I would also like to hear from others!?!?!

I have the shrockworks midwidth bumper w/hoop. Also a warn integrated CME9000. fit perfectly with no mod's to the bumper, wires safe, and I've pulled many cars/trucks/small tractors out of ditches this winter with no change in alignment and no obvious stress on any of the parts.

^the under bumper skid is also great for protecting winch components and my PA speakers^

^the bumper also held a 6000+lb loaded DHL delivery truck when his transmission went out and slid into my jeep as I was trying to jump his batt, interesting day.
All this said I can't knock ARB bumpers, they're great build quality and pretty equal when it comes to winch/clevis point options. I'm just a happy shrockworks customer.

I've had two ARB bull bars and also went with them on their American Outback Adventure through the back country of Canada.
My first was on my old '94 ZJ, the second was my '02 WJ.
I have a Shrockworks on my JK. I liked the looks better. That being said, it feels more robust than the ARB.
Both are good products, I think the Shrockworks is slightly better because it comes with a nice beefy front skid plate.
I've also made several hard pulls where my XD9000 nearly stalled out extracting a VERY stuck WK Grand Cherokee.
As for availability....Screamin' Lizard Customs often have them in stock.
If you are ever over in the Carrollton, North Dallas area, let me know and you can check mine out.

The Shrockworks midwidth is an outstanding bumper. One of the things I
really like about it, compared to some, is it was designed to hold the Warn
PowerPlant from the ground up. Access to all controls and the Warn sets nice
and low in the bumper (I'm not familiar enough with the ARB, so maybe it does
this, too). I got mine with the winch hoop, but TORN called up Shrockworks
and had them also add a hood/grill hoop on his.
On rear bumpers: Have you looked at the ARB? It doesn't suit my taste,
anyway. I have a Shrockworks rear with all the goodies on order--long story,
but it's been a long wait. I think that Shrockworks is delivering bumpers in
about two months now. However, you're right next to Screamin' Lizard: Go
over there and talk to them, look at their work, and see how long before they
can get you a bumper (sometimes they even have them in stock).
Here are some pic's of my front bumper. There's a ton more of them in my
gallery.

I spent a month researching bumpers before I pulled the trigger on the Shrockworks Mid width. I like that it incorporates the use of the factory fogs, has a which loop and light tabs on the bumper. It also comes with a front skid plate. Its so easy to drop a winch in the Shrockworks bumper, it comes with everything you need to install a winch. I had them weld another set of light tabs on the top of the winch loop so that I could put another set pair of lights on the bumper. The only downside to Shrockworks is their lead times. Mine took about 3 months to show up but its worth the wait.
