Default Rough Country Series II 2.5" Lift

Thinking of purchasing this kit and looking for some answers to a couple of questions. I've tried pm'ing and emailing Ben at RC but haven't gotten any replies. I'm guessing he probably took off for the holidays. Hoping some of you out there that may have bought this kit might be able to help me out.

Keep in mind I've got a stock Rubicon Unlimited and will be running the factory wheels & tires.

Does this kit level out the Jeep or does it maintain all or some of the factory rake?

Are spacers required if off roading with stock wheels? I know they are with the Teraflex kits but I don't know if they're neccessary with all kits or just the ones from TF.

Will I need bump stops?

Anyone know if they offer a club discount? What about a multi-kit discount (a friend might want one too).

Thanks, Bill

PS: Please don't flame me for going with RC vs the local favorite of Teraflex. This is a daily driver and I'll probably only get about 4 trips to Rausch Creek per year (if I'm lucky). I was going to go with the TF coil kit, but decided not to when I learned that the 2.5" kit gives 3"+ and may require an investment in new drive shafts.

If all I was planning on running was stock Rubi wheels and tires, I wouldn't waste the money lifting my Jeep.....

This is the lift I am planning on putting on this spring when it warms up. I am not sure about this but my understanding from my research is that wheel spacers are not necessary and bump stops are incorporated into the shocks. Please correct me i I am wrong anyone.

As far as it being a waste of money to lift if you are planning on running 32's I disagree. You will still gain belly clearance and can upgrade tires once the 32's wear out. That is what I am planning on doing. A guy in my club has the RC 2.5 BB with stock rubi wheels and tires and it looks fine and he has more clearance than I do. A lot of people complain about RC but an equal amount rave about them.

My response to the OP was based on the facts that he presented... "will be running the factory wheels & tires" and "this is a daily driver and I'll probably only get about 4 trips to Rausch Creek per year (if I'm lucky)". He mentioned no plans down the road of getting larger tires or using it for more than a daily driver. So, why lift it and keep stock tires?? Even a mild 2 or 2.5" lift will make the Jeep look goofy sitting on the stock tires. If he has plans down the road to put larger tires under his Jeep, I'd still say hold off on the lift until he's ready to get the larger tires and do it all at once.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it....

To add to my original post, my plan is to upgrade to a larger tire size once the stock 32s wear down. I want to get the kit now because I've got a little extra money laying around and if I don't spend it on this now, it will probably get spent here and there on little things.

I use the 2.5" progressive RC without rubbing on stock wheels an 33" tires. The bump stops are included on the 2.2 shocks with my kit.I thought the Series II was a 4 inch lift?

Benefits:
• Clears up to 35" tires.
• 100% bolt-on installation.
• Increased ground clearance.
• Levels the front with the rear of the Jeep.
• Upgrade w/ Peformance 2.2 series shocks. (these have the integrated bumpstops. If you do not go with those shocks, you will probably want to add some more bumpstop...)

Notes:
• 35" tires will clear but rubbing may occur with
extreme articulation.
• If running 35s on factory wheels, double check clearance between front tire, lower control arm
and sway bar link.
(there have been reports of clearance issues with stock rims and the new rear links, double check after install...)
• Spring retention design keeps springs in place
during extreme articulation.

I was going to go with the TF coil kit, but decided not to when I learned that the 2.5" kit gives 3"+ and may require an investment in new drive shafts
Don't assume that you will not need new driveshafts at any particular height. You are just less likely to need them with lower heights, and more likely with taller lifts. (what is the 'actual' lift height on the RC 2.5" coils? Somewhere over 3"?)

This is the kit I've been referring to. There may be a 4" Series II kit, but this is the 2.5" version.

I'm going to be using this with the factory coils & shocks so the bumpstops integrated into the 2.2 shocks won't help me. Also, I guess I will get a true 2.5" lift since I'm not using the progressive coils.

I guess I'll have to search for a post with lifted Jeeps on stock wheels and see if it looks awkward. I ws really hoping to get more "belly clearance" as another member commented.

that kit will give you 2.5" all the way around. if your running stock tires, you wont need wheel spacers.

My bad. I was confused about your lift. I don't know if my experience with my lift has any bearing on what yours will be. Although I don't believe you'll need the spacers.
I think my Jeep looks OK with 33's so I don't think 32's would be that bad. Mine did look kind of silly with the original 30's on it though. That may be where some of the comments come from.
Good luck and sorry for my confusion.
