what good would a heat reduction hood do for waterproofing? and why go a arb snorkel with a aev hood? you already have notches for the AEV snorkel built into the hood. and now you have to cut holes in other places to install the arb snorkel that are not reverseable and you would limit the posibility of a dual battery set up in the stock location. Just some thoughts.

I went heat reduction hood and aev snorkel because they went together and I can sell them if the need ever arise or I sell the jeep. no cutting was involved which I liked. I really liked the styling of the heat reduction hood. but it has no purpose for water proofing. I went aev snorkel because I could use it with the hood and no modifications.

How about the breather hoses for the transmission and transfer case?

What about all the electronics? What about the exhaust? You did say waterPROOF.

The exhaust doesn't need to be waterproof unless you plan on turning the engine off underwater.

If you want to play in water, get a boat.
Snorkels are for a raised air intake in order to get cooler and cleaner air into the engine. They help with water not going into the air intake, but they're not designed to turn your jeep into a submarine.
Water is the easiest way to damage your jeep.

Water will get into your lights, electronics etc. Over the next year or so, things will start to fail one by one. Also, the water gets up into places and rusts things, I have also tried to stay out of water at all costs. I learned my lesson years ago back in Australia when I destroyed a suv because of water. Within a year it was ruined.

head out to Cali. Ther are still a few Marine Corps HMMWV's for sale around the 29 Palms area. They since closed the loop hole in the military contracts that allowed a few to be sold to the public. For about 20,000 you get an H1 that is already water proofed for ship to shore operations. Everything including the elec. system. save the JK for the fun stuff.
