Default How much synthetic line

I am looking into synthetic line from jeep swag but not sure how long I should go. I am stuck between 100' or 75'. I am limited on cash and the extra money I would save on the 75' would help. I figure if I ever need a little more reach I can use my tow strap. Just want to see what everybody's opinion is.

the cost difference is not that much to go with 100', wait till you can spend the extra money and then buy it. 25' of additional line is important when you need to get out and alot of times you will still need additional straps even with 100'
You spent the money on a winch, dont stop now, do it right!

Couple thoughts:

1. Is that a tow strap or a snatch strap? You wouldn't want to use a snatch strap as a winchline extender, and if you have this for recovery, a snatch strap is probably what you need.

2. If you decide to get the 75 footer, you can buy a 50 foot extension later. That's not such a bad idea, because it lets you quickly have a shorter length of strap on the winch when that's all you need. And, since the strongest pull is when most of the line is NOT on the winch, that should be pretty often. Then just put the extension in when you need a little more.

buy the extra '25ft...buying synthetic winch line and 'limited on cash' doesn't quite go together in my opinion. Get a good line and length, or don't get it at all.

Go with the extra if your winch will allow for it. I have a Superwinch epi9, and just took the 125' of cable off and put 90' of Viking 3/8 on it. Superwinch sells it as the epi9s with 80' of 3/8 on it, and that is all that they recommend using. It will hold a little more than they suggest, but will not take the whole 125' due to the bigger diameter of the synthetic cable.

Just my $.02.
