Default Can 35 inch tire fit into JK without lift but just Bushwacker flat fender flare

I installed Bushwacker Fender Flare on my JK.

I am planning to put bigger tire on my JK. Without any lift, I know I can
fit in 33 inch tire well with 4.25 inch backspcing wheel.

But I wonder if anyone tried to put 35 inch tire without lift?

yes it will fit, and you can drive it on road with not much problems but, the tires will need to be fairly narrow and somewhat smooth tread. no sidebiters such as the mud grapplers would have. OFF ROAD! thats a different animal. you will have alot of rubbing and flex will be very limited. disconneting would not be a good idea with no lift. I know you want to try to keep it stock for warranty purposes. but a lift will not void your warranty. just that part you installed will not be covered.

Magnuson Moss warranty act. is a federal law that gaurantees it. any work you do. and it does not have to be done by the dealer. the only thing that is not covered is the part you install. some dealers might bitch about it and some might even refuse to cover it. but in the long run they have no choice! you will have to force some to do it.

So with all that said. get the mild lift such as the TF 2.5 coil w/ shocks and put on the 35s, of course you will need to regear to keep your mileage. unlimited X with stick I would say 4.88s would keep you where you are now. mileage and performance wise. and you will need to retune also. ( pro-cal, superchips flashpaq,) something along those lines.

You won't be able to flex at all. 2.5" coil spacers is what I have and do everything on my 35s

First of all, I am a newbie, so don't judge too harshly.

This issue has also been discussed regarding xenon fender flares as well. Refer to https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...light=aev+lift for details. There doesn't seem to be many people that have this setup, so there's not that much experience. "Bmore30" is the only one I know of. He has a Rubicon Unlimited. From what I know, which isn't that much, Rubicon springs are stiffer than the X and Sahara, so the results may be different.

Here's what I would like to know. With fender flares, what is the smallest amount of lift that would produce enough clearance for 35s? I know the default answer is 2.5" or 3" ideally, but these recommendations do not incorporate fender flares.

As one with an X Unlimited, I would like to purchase Xenon Fenders and install 35s. When the time is right, I would upgrade my springs and shocks to improve both performance and eliminate any rubbing at full flex; however, I want to keep the lift as small as possible. The minimum I know of is 2", which results in about 3" of lift. This would likely require future modifications to keep the stock daily driving performance (i.e. control arms...). I know I could purchase a spacer kit (less lift), but is this really an upgrade or just a cheaper way of lifting? Body lift kits raise the center of gravity of the jeep; however, maybe this is the answer.

You can see there are a lot of issues with 35s and no lift...no matter what type of fenders. Anyone have first hand experience?

any chance you could post a pic or two of your JK with the Bushwacker flares on? I'm curious as to what it looks like being stock height with these flares.

the issue is not if they will fit you can take a stock jk and put 35s on it and drive it. its not the fenders somuch that will be the problem. in everyday driving. it will be the bumpers and the swaybar, and like parts that will come into contact with them the fenders are only really affected when you are flexing or any kind of action the would require an off camber turn of any kind.

I think flares and 1" BL should do it
to keep suspension stock to add 35's. But you may need to consider a re-gear down the road.

Depends on what you want to do, but if you off road, get a suspension lift, and as for re-gearing, not really required with a Rubicon even with auto transmission. (but the computer correction is needed)
