A CAI only takes your money with no gain on a JK and improves your chances of getting hydro-locked when you go threw water.

that makes sense to an extent...i dont plan on bringing my jeep through water though. its my daily driver. im trying to improve performance because of the 35's i put on it. Im getting ideas but my money is going aside to regear this spring/summer.

SOO putting an intake in the jeep wont add "any" performance? Like you said what a waste if thats the case....

It will not make any performance increase at all. Spend you money on stuff that will help you off road.

But CAI's are a waste.

i got 2mpg hwy.. from mbrp exhaust and AEM intake.. it sounds awesome... and im sure you'll love it.

theres 2 kinds of people.. people who swear by them.. and people who say there worthless..

which ever bandwagon you choose is up to you

personally... plastic holds heat... the tubing is tiny.. and the filters are a joke..
yet.. people say theyre better in water... but mine had a crappy seal soo i got rid of mine real quick..

just ask david at northridge4x4.. he use's AEM brute force... if he swears by it... i will

I tested one (aFe) recently for a couple tanks of gas and I got practically zero increase in MPG compared to my K&N drop in and pretty close to the same to a new stock filter.

I did feel a difference in throttle responsiveness, but if there was a increasing in HP it was very minimal in my normal rpm range < 3500 rpm.

It looks cool, but it's noisy, increases the probablility of sucking in water and you can buy a lot of other stuff with that amount of cash.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. No real power gain or MPG with CAI. I had the AEM, and took if off and put the stock one back on due to Dust & Dirt it collected and when I went through any water crossing, the water would splash onto the dry filter and mix with all the dust. Very Messy...

For a daily driver you'll like it. I've had K&N in all my vehicles, and they're great. Like others have said, there's not much increase in the way of MPG, but you'll notice a little difference in throttle response. If you worry much about water, K&N makes a sleeve that you can slide over your filter to help with that. I love mine. I go off road occasionally, so I don't really worry about the water much.

I have a K&N 63 series and love it, it compliments my superchips very well and it sounds cool when you stomp on the gas. Great product.
