Default Question about Superchips Flashpack and Warrenty?

This probably is a dumb question but would a aftermarket computer programmer like the Superchips one, would void the stock warranty? Could they blame a problems saying that you installed a third party program and that was the cause of the problem?

Yes....but some dealers are chip friendly....but many are not......before you take your JK in for service SC programmer states in the operator manual to reset your vehicle back to stock.

with my Dodge CTD....I have the Edge Juice with Attitude....dealer saw it for servicing and my Powertrain Warranty was void on the spot... but I only had a few 1K left on warranty anyways.

Well I would think you would probably need to program it back to stock before you took it in. I figure it would void it but how would they know if you reprogrammed? I'm no expert tho.

That is a good point, I could just switch it back to stock settings if a problem came out.

switch it back to stock settings before you put it into the dealer for service as the superchips program will be detectable by the dealer if its not back to stock settings

Sometimes it takes a vehicle to run through a "cycle" to eliminate codes held in the computer. I'm not sure what Jeep computers are like, but with my previous vehicle (Mustang), you would have to drive 100 miles to get the old code out.

x2...I agree and would run mine for a bit before taking it in. I want to get a chip for my 08 Rubi and have already thought the same thing. Anything electronic leaves a thumbprint!

Well, I had a problem and had to have the Jeep towed to the dealer. I reprogrammed it back to stock right there on the lot before they worked on it. They never mentioned a thing....

I never had the balls to do a back to stock change at the dealership, and always avoided it because I didn't want to go to jail for beating the snot out of the guy at the service counter for telling me my warranty was voided.

I really hate being deceitful, but it's the only surefire way to avoid conflict with the dealership.
