Default Nitto Trail Grappler v Toyo MT

Anyone with first hand experience with both? I know the Toyo are a proven tire on and off road and have great tread life. While the Nitto's are relatively new.
I am looking at buying 37's, and the Nittos are a little over 200 bucks cheaper. The other downfall, which is not that big of a deal, is the Toyo is a 13.50, where the Nitto is a 12.50, I would prefer the 13.50.

My choices are limited b/c I have 20" wheels, currently have 36" Iroks, and while there not bad tires, they really did not last that long, and have taken a lot of weight to balance. They have been great off road, and fairly good on road too.
Any incite or experience with both?? Thanks!!

A couple of guys I wheel with swear by the toyos... and tread life is awesome. Nittos are still pretty new to the market. Also heard that Toyos dont require too much weight wich is great. Just my 2cents. I am going with the toyos but in 33's.

I've heard good things about the Toyo's but I went with the Nitto's. Not to much noise on the road. I have had no issues on wet roads. Had no issues in snow and they have done VERY well in the mud.
I run alot with a friend with Cooper's and I feel my Nittto's do better. But of course I would .
I have about 5k miles on them so far and couldn't be more happy.

^Got any pics Hdrider? That is good to hear. The other con to the nitto's is the 12.50, I really like how my 13.50's currently fit!!

I am currently running the nitto's (35"), but am switching to the toyo's (35") this week... I didnt come close to the miles i was hoping for out of the nitto's. Another HUGE downfall is the noise... With a hard top and windows up it is hard to carry on a conversation, on the phone I have been asked if I was in an airplane, and a fellow jk'r said it was louder than his MTR's with a soft top. As far as the toyo's, I had them on my 05 FX4 and they kicked ass (on and off road)! Just my two cents.

Really,,,, noise,,, I have ridden in a couple rigs wirh coopers stt's and they are 50% louder. And a couple other jeepers have ridden with me and said they where surprised that they where not louder.
But maybe I'm just used to driving a diesel truck and a Harley so it makes the jeep sound quiet. Or I'm getting old and dief
Pictures,,, sure,,, I will post some up after work.

Are you talking about the TRAIL grapplers or the MUD grapplers? The Trail grapplers are new and look nearly identical to the toyo mt.

I have had the mud grapplers before, and yes, they sound like you're in a prop plane!

I have the Nitto Trail Grapplers and love them so far. I have about 3k on them and have had no problems yet. Seem to do good in mud and on wet pavement. I have never had big tires before so I can not compare but the noise does not seem to be to bad. I went with the Nittos over the Toyos due to the weight of each tire the Toyos are heavier per tire.
