Default Rubber Boot On Front Drive Shaft

Ripped rubber boot on front shaft wheeling in the ice. Went to dealer to get new one and they said do not sell boot seperate have to buy new shaft
I'm like are you kidding me. So does anybody have any suggestions to replace boot without getting new shaft????

try and find someone locally that has switched out to aftermarket driveshafts, see if you can buy the boot from them, but they may want you to buy whole shaft but it will be alot cheaper than the dealership. If and when you do get a replacement make sure you fix the cleanace issue that caused the initial rip, or you will be in the same situation again.

I've had that problem in the past with other assemblies. It is highly dealer dependent.

If you get the part number for the boot, you can order it online from the usual suspects. For some reason using the description of a part raises all sorts of questions sometimes.

just leave it ripped and call it a day. even if you were able to replace it, you'd just end up ripping it again the first time you took your jeep out. the boot just helps to keep the grease inside and having it ripped will just allow that grease to dry out. the worst that's gonna happen is your DS will start squeaking.
