Ok, so as the title says, I am looking for the best road tire to put on my jk.

The new tires will be going on stock X 16" steelies.
I would like tires that are good in snow and rain and obviously have good dry traction.
I'm thinking of something in the 33x10x16 size. (Is that too big?)

These new tires do not need to handle any wheeling. I currently have 35s (mt/r kevlars on 15" wheels) and don't want to wear them out with too much road driving. I think it would be nice to have two good sets to swap back and forth for wheeling and regular driving.

What do you guys suggest?

 

All Season tires for SUVs are not really great. Better off getting a set of all terrains that are severe snow rated. (BFG AT, Goodyear Duratrac, etc)

Firestone Destination ATs are really highly rated on TireRack but I have no direct experience with them.

 

you can buy 5 of my 17's with Brand new Goodyear SRA with 2,400 miles on them..

I will look into the duratracs, I have a Goodyear center that always undercuts any online price and they include mounting and balancing.

 

I'm not such a fan of firestones ever since my father hydroplaned in his work van with a set of them. I have been told that Firestone uses harder rubber so their tires last longer but by default it reduces traction, especially in wet weather.

 

If I wanted SRA tires and alloys I would put my sahara wheels back on.

I've always been partial to Bridgestone A/T's. Had them on my Yota, and have them on my GMC truck. I usually get about 60K miles out of them, but they are ROUGH! More suited to heavy load hauling than for comfy driving. Great in the rain, snow and quiet on the dry. Also strong enough for running forest roads.

 

Nitto Terra Grapplers. They're quiet, and excellent in rain,snow and dirt.
