How is the tire wear on a 8 inches rim if the tire is 12.50" wide?

Hi does anybody know if this is an important consideration when buying wheels?

WayofLife Recommends 8 inches rims for a 12.50" tire when airing down.

I read somewhere in the forum that a narrow rim may cause the center of the tire to wear prematurely.

Thank you for your comments.

Its all about the air pressure..I ran that combo for years with no bad effects..If you run to much PSI you'll wear the center of the treat out..

Default Tire Wear

Thank you Planman. My plan is to get 8 inches wide with rim (4.5 backspacing) instead of the 16X7 inches steel wheel that my X has now.

Thank you ifshinxs. I think I was running too much pressure in my tires too.

255 85 16 on a 16 X 7 steel rim.
