Default 4dr JK w/ 35s 3" lift

So going with 35" BFG KM2s and a 3" BDS lift very very soon. I have an auto transmission and have heard the performance is horrible unless you regear.
Q: What gear ratio should I be running with 35" tires?
A: In order to bring your Jeep's performance back to stock, you will need to run 4.88 gears with 35" tires. However, if you are looking for a little extra power, you should consider getting 5.13's. This is especially desirable if you have an automatic transmission.
My questions is I don't have a rubicon so if I regear to 5.13 do I need to consider anything else to change as well as a result of the higher gearing, lift and tires?

It's all about personal preference. Put your tires on drive it. If you hate it then drop the cash on a regear. We have 4.10s and 35s and it's fine around town, ok on the highway, and embarassing in the mountains. It hasn't been bad enough that I've gone out of my way to budget for a regear. I keep pressuring the wife for some regear money and she hasn't bit yet so I'm stickin with what I got.

Would I like a regear, yes! Do I need it this very moment...no....But it is my next major mod on the to-do list.

Default ^^ I agree..

Put the lift on and see how you like it before you worry too much about re-gearing. I have 3.73's w/35's and it's okay for here in FL w/ the O/D off and a Superchip, but I will be re-gearing before too long.

For what its worth, a buddy of mine has a Rubi Unlimited on 4" lift and 35" and did not regear and has no issues. He wheels all the time no problems.

Its not high on the priority list, but it is certainly in the future mostly due to a lot of highway travel.

I can understand how this would be an issue if you do lots of hwy driving. My buddy lives pretty close to his job and wheels often...not much hwy time for his rig!
