Modifying Stock JK
So I just picked up a 2010 4 dr. Pics are attached for referance. I am very new to this and so looking for a lot of advice as to the next steps. So I have 16 wheels and 32 tires. For me it feels a little too low for a Jeep
. So I want to raise it but only slightly as it is also my daily driver and I drive about 50 miles round trip. So in short this is my daily driver and I want to get decent mpg (for what it is) but I would like it a little taller as I would like to dabble in some offroading....nothing too extreme (like rock crawling which is hard to find here in FL anyway) as it is my daily driver. So what is the advice for wheels, tires, lift, suspension etc. Like I said this is my first venture into this so any and all advice is extremely grateful!
Also what about rhinoing the inside as well as doing some other minor stuff such as installing a B&M Supercooler and a Transkit (all suggested to me by someone else).
Oh and what about disconnecting for offroad? Again like I said I'm new lol
Thanks!

I have an 08 Rubi Unlimited and I have only added a 2" coil spacer to give it more lift. I like you wanted to keep .y factory ride largely intact. Then when you burn up the stock tired you could easily add some 33" tired which will give you another boost. Otherdie these are pretty capable out of the box...never did any wheeling until I got this one and I love it! I also added a new front skid plate...but not really necessary I guess!
What lift you go with all depends on how big of tires you want to run and what type of wheeling you do. You can run 33" tires with just a simple leveling kit and 35" tires with a 2.5" lift. You will need aftermarket wheels with 4.5" backspacing or wheel spacers with the stock wheels. Quick disconnects are inexpensive and will give you better articulation off road. I would forget about the supercooler and transkit idea as there isn't much you can do with the 3.8 JK engine performance wise that is cost effective. Do a search and read up on the many posts to help answer your questions.
Well the Supercooler is only like $50, so not too pricey. The Transkit is a bit more expensive at around $250 or so. I was thinking 33s or 35s for tires. Figuring they won't affect my mpg much nor the road riding but give me a little boost offroad. I'm wondering what the diffence will be between the 33s and the 35s functionality wise but also cost wise. Also what does it cost to get quick disconnects. Remember 90% of my driving will be on pavement with the other 10 being offroad but here in florida it's mainly muck/mud and dirt. Not so much as rock crawling etc. Also what about suspension upgrades?
