Default Steering problem / maybe I need a new gear box

OK to give you a little info my jeep has been sitting on my garage for over 6 months now unable to be driven.

Problem as best as I can tell you:

I went off roading one day, nothing too hard or not any hard then I have done in the past, and when I got back on road and re-con my sway bar I started driving down the road. I notice that while take left hand turns I was having to turn the steering wheel about 180 degrees to get the jeep to even start turning to the left at all. Now it does not really do it when turning to the right.

What I have done so far:

Replace steering stabilizer
Changed out the end of the drag link that goes to the pitman arm
Taken My pitman arm back off and looked at the teeth on it and the gear box
Taken it to one shop and all they could find is that the pitman arm nut was not all the way tight which is why I did the above.
Track bar / draglink and everything else under the jeep is not bent as far as I can see.

The only thing I haven't done is have someone turn the wheel while I'm laying under to watch the kunckle from the steering wheel down to the gearbox to see if all of that is turnning in line.

And the only other thing I can think it could be is that I have rubbed down the gears inside the gear box on one side.

So if any of you could think of anything else I could check myself please let me know. I would once again like to drive my jeep some day.

Yes, you need a helper so you can see the point of lost motion.

Start at the firewall, and observe as your helper moves the steering wheel.
You will be able to pinpoint the problem right away.
