I've read on here that the 5.38's are more susceptible to breakage than the 5.13's but that the 5.38's are a better match to the auto if I'm going to go with 35's or 37's. they were older posts i was reading and I was wondering what the consensus is now and if there are any good places in NH VT or MA that would do the gear swap and how much it may cost.
The popular consensus is that 5.13s is a very good match for the auto. If you are going with 37s or might in the future then go with the 5.38s.
Just keep in mind if it matters to you that RPM will jump by 20% on the highway when you drop out of overdrive. Many don't seem to care, but I don't like to see my rev's fly up instantaneously to 4k when I am cruising at 75+ MPH.
Make your own decision by looking at the gears chart in the FAQ this sub forum.

That's the chart I've been referencing and if I'm going to spend alot of money on re-gearing, I want to be sure I do it right. I know that the 35's are more practical for my jeep being a daily driver but they don't look big to me. 37's look more proportional on the 4door.
