Goodyear MT/R w. Kev... warranty $ ?
I've ordered my MT/R w/ Kevlar 35's ( they just arrived ) at Discount Tire. They were GREAT about beating a lower online price I found...
Question: I reflexively thought I'd buy the replacement warranty @ $55/tire until I talked with a bud about it. At $262, that's 95% the cost of a new tire. His point was, these tires aren't going to last more than 40-50K at best, .. they're tough and will take abuse, and likely not have multiple failures ( sidewall punctures ).
So.. it's the standard warranty question.. is it money well spent on this tire? Any MT/R owners ? I don't plan on anything more than light trail ( not rocks ) and DD use. I usually get tire warranties from DT, but.. this is big money AND come to think of it, I've never had to have a tire replaced with their warranty...
I can't wait to get the tires on. Next week after I get my lift done. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi,
My situation's a little different; but, I'll share what I was thinking.
I bought MT/Rs from Discount Tire, and I bought the lifetime warranty for each.
My Jeep is not my daily driver. I estimate that well over half of the miles will be on trails, including rocks.
Other forum members have commented on the hassle-free replacement for tires from DT when the tires aren't repairable. For the use I intended, I considered it pretty good insurance. The price was expensive at the time; but, it's great to not have to worry about the carnage later.

Thanks for the feedback... I'm leaning hard towards not buying the insurance. I can see having to pay to buy one tire,... but more than one? That's the only way this makes sense.... UNLESS I was going to do a moderate amount of rock trails or something .... well... cool.
