Default Recall Notice

I finally got my transmission overheat recall notice yesterday. About time! Now if I can just find that tow bar they say I have.......

Does anybody know if when they reflash the computer will it wipe out the changes I made with my Pro-Cal? Not a big issue, just curious.

Can't speak to the Pro-Cal, but with the Hypertech they say you need to restore the factory settings before the reflash, then restore the Hypertech after the reflash. I think that does a couple things, including preserving the ability of the Hypertech to flash a JK (otherwise it will think that you've already got a JK flashed, and you're limited to just one), and ensure that any changes in the new Jeep firmware build will be reflected in the Hypertech firmware build that you load.

yea youll need to put the JK back to stock before bringing it in to the dealer.. Its a real quick process with the pro-cal. I miss it for that reason.....

Hey thanks for the responses. I would have never thought about that. Good thing I checked here first.

If you're referring to the recall for the tow bar, they mean one in the front thats used to tow YOUR jeep, not one in the rear to tow others.. made that same mistake and was corrected somewhere else on the forum by somebody smarter than I

Still waiting on my letter
You might want to add the word "transmission" to your Thread Title,
more distinguishing name. Just a thought.
