Undo the strap that stops the door. You just have to be careful because it will open all the way into the front door. Or if you wanted you could make the strap longer somehow so that it will open more but won't swing around and hit the front door.

Someone used to make some adjustable ones for the TJ.

I just used an adjustable strap instead or even better just remove the doors.

I would tell them to drive themselves. I have a Wrangler (2 dr) without a rear seat because Wrangler's are for one-two people. Family cars have nice large rear seats and 4 doors.

I've got a four door and a family. It's a reasonable question, he was looking for help, not asking to be judged.

I like the idea of the longer strap, I may have to look into making something like that.

Nobody judged anyone - you whiner. Anyone given a ride should be grateful they were driven around. Anyone complaining about getting into or out of a Wrangler A) has never been in a Wrangler, and B) shouldn't be in a Wrangler a second time. If you are unsure how tight the access and egress is to/from the back doors of an Unlimited then you didn't do your homework prior to buying it.

If you can find some 1" nylon webbing (like a nylon tube strap or rope guard for rappeling) and cut it to length, loop it back over itself and sew it up good, they make great door straps. Made some like this for my buddy's TJ when we replaced them all.

I would be careful extending the straps. I have a feeling that if you go beyond 90 degrees, it will open 180 degrees and his the front door.

I have a feeling people don't ride with you for more reasons than your lack of a backseat.

Good day
