Manual Tranny swap
Ok so I have most of the parts to do the swap from an auto to 6 speed , tranny, cross member, rear driveshaft , pedals , console ,pcm , harnesses etc. My Jeep is an 08 Auto and the tranny comes from an 07. Question is how much of the harness needs to be swapped out? Also my jeep has the remote start , what do I need to do with that?
On a side note , I installed a LS1 into a 93 Rx7 , helped my dad install a LS1 into a miata , rebuilt an 03 wrecked Mach 1 from the ground up , built a Lone Star kit AC Cobra etc I have had my share of worms ..... just need some input if available , Im tearing into this animal regardless just looking for some pointers if anyone has gone along this path.
From searching the forums I assume that every time this topic has come up it has always been shot down by the dont swap just trade crowd. I guess Ill be the pioneer then. I picked a complete donor vehicle wrecked so Ill keep yall posted
From doign previous swaps on other vehicles you need at least the following:
Fly Wheel
Pressure Plate
Pilot Bushing
Clutch
Transmission
Transfercase (inputs are different)
Computer (They are different for AT and MT)
Wiring Harness (May not be required, you may be able to leave the AT lines unplugged)
Drive Shafts (Different lengths)
Cross Member / Skid Plate (different between AT and MT)
I think thats it for the big items. Plus I am sure there will be little things (bolts etc).

I would suggest you call Dan at Burnsvilleoffroad. They do these swaps all the time when putting in Hemi's so I am fairly certain he could help you out. He also has a lot of knowledge on the reprograming of the JK computers
