Default Gussets 35" tires or larger

So I understand that I will need front gussets if go with a 35" tire or larger because it will start to bend the axle . But my question is what about the rear do I need something for that axle as well ? Or do I really need to even have the gussets at all?

The gussets are not for preventing axel bend, but for strengthening the axel C's, which have a tendency to bend with larger tires. So no, you will not have to worry about the rear axel with 35s.

If you plan on wheelin the JK, get the EVO gussets. You don't need anything for the rear.

I have gone well over a year with 35's some hard wheeling and had no problem with bent C's....... But I also just installed a set of gussets this weekend. so if you put on a set of 35's definatly put a set of gussets on your to do list

I will ask the question then because I do not know the answer...

The gussets strengthen the C's...check.

What about the bending of the axles? Chromo shafts? Inner axle sleeves? Axle gussets or other welded on brackets to reinforce and strengthen things up? Should any of these things be done in the front and / or back with 35's? 37's?

The axle housing/tubes/bearings bear the load you're talking about. The axle shafts themselves are subjected to torsional force. If you're worried about axle tube stress/failure (shouldNt unless you like to jump, bash off rocks or run really large tires) then you would also use an axle truss. This can be used on the front or back.

At that point you would want to upgrade the axle shafts,
u-joints, u-joint weld on caps etc, but usually axle tube/housing failure occurs under different conditions than axle shaft/u-joint/drive shaft/ring & pinion failure.

I guess you just grind off the tacks to change out the u-joints , I had one of my stock caps come off my u-joint is this a common thing to happen?? It was fixed under warranty They replaced the seals and bearings and the axle shaft and u-joints.

Is there an easy way to tell if your C's are already bent?

yup stand back 20 feet from your jeep and look at your tires and see if they lean inwards
