Post Poison Spyder Body Armor

I have been looking at Poison Spyder Body armor and I am just curious if anyone can give me the pros and cons of steel vs. aluminum. I can see the obvious difference is price and weight but I am curious if there are advantages of one over the other. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

Other than $$ main difference is weight and Aluminum will never rust.

The aluminum ones are made to be used in conjuction with a larger rock rail system (Rocker knockers) and don't offer much strength for impact protection to your sheet metal.

If you aren't gonna put big rock rails on (and keep ones like the stock Rubi ones), steel will offer you more protection.

Steel VS Aluminum. Probably half the weight.

There is another down side to aluminum armor is that when you put it against steel and you live in Mississippi it WILL rust. Just beware.

Aluminum's weight is 1/3 that of steel. Aluminum is softer than steel as well. Aluminum will also flex more than steel. Finally, aluminum will not rust when against steel. The steel may rust if inadequately protected against corrosion or if you live in a high moisture/high salt environment (e.g. Coastal) rusting of the steel on your vihicle might be a consideration.
