Default 2010 Rubicon 4dr with Budget Boost?

I did some searching but couldn't find all the answers anywhere. I'm considering adding a 2" lift to our 2010 ruby. I've never done this before and I'm a complete newb Any assistance or advice would be great. I don't plan to swap the tires out yet. We do some jeep trails, but no crawling.

So my questions are:

Should I go with Budget Boost or get a 'real' lift?
Will it look/function ok with the stock wheels/tires?
Its my daily driver, will Budget Boost affect my road handling?
Anyone have pictures of what I can expect?

Ever since we bought the jeep back in November, I've been lurking and have learned a ton from this board. I appreciate any advice or feedback

-David

Wow! Great Post! I've been wondering about all the same questions myself. Thanks for posting.

I just installed a 2.5" Tera-flex coil lift yesterday. I went with coils because the BB won't level the jeep,it just raises it up and you're left with the factory rake.

I'm sticking with the factory Rubi BFGs because I actually like the way it looks with the 32" tires. With the 2.5" lift and stock tires it looks the way it should have come from the factory.

The lift was really easy. A buddy and I got it done in about 6 hours, with lunch and some beer drinking thrown it for good measure. If I really wanted to get it busted out,we probably could have done it in half that.

Since you have decent shocks already,I'd pick the Tera-flex coil lift with shock adapters.

I have had the teraflex bb with shock extensions for the last 40k miles and have been very happy with it. I just switched to teraflex shocks and didn't notice any change in ride quality. The new shocks are longer so it should allow more flex but I haven't had much need for more than I had before. I am happy with the lift I got.

Will it look/function ok with the stock wheels/tires? Yes...just fine. But as they suggest you should get wheels spacers to avoid rubbing on the rear swaybar.
Its my daily driver, will Budget Boost affect my road handling? No.

Thanks, that was exactly the info and pic I was looking for. That's about the amount of lift I want. Do you mind me asking what it ran you to do it?

Well the coil kit with shock extensions is $479 at Northridge4x4 if you want to re-use your Rubi shocks. I paid $240 to have the kit installed.

Here are a few pics of my wife's Jeep. She has a 2.5" Skyjacker lift, running 33" tires. It is quite capable.

Well here is my 2 cents worth.. From experiance so maybe its worth 3 cents..

I have a rubi unlimited. Went with the TF 2.5BB. Put on heavy bumper in the front and a winch. I ended up with about 1/2 of travel n the front end before my bumpstops hit. Mind you this was just in the front with the bumper and winch installed. I called TF and Joe said that the 2.5 coils had just come out and he said that would take care of my problems. I ordered the springs only as the BBB kit had the rest of the stuff i needed. I removed my BBB pucks (they now live in florida) and installed the springs. TThat solved the problem. The setup looks good!

I still don't know why people need to level the jeep. When you put stuff in the back it levels its self, other wise it looks like your draggin your ass end around all the time....

I hope this helps out.. BTW I run stock tires on my Rubi, have no need to go bigger....

I have a few shot of my jeep on my web site..
