Cool Best choices, options for flashpaq. 08 unlimited.

I just lifted my 08 unlimited x 4dr with 3.5 lift and 35in toyos. I'm a dd with lots of highway driving. I bought flashpaq and my installer only did the speedo and tire size fix. What else can I do to improve the performance and gas mileage? And anything to make it shift less? Any good posts would be great. Thankyou.

I'm interested also. I don't have the flashpaq though.

You need to get some steeper gears to prevent dropping out of OD. If that's not in the cards at this time, turn OD off and in absence of the kickdowns you should see an efficiency increase.

Also, as the octane setting goes up so does your mileage with the Flashpaq. Most notably going to the 91 setting.

Hope that helps.

It's really going to be the cost differences between the octane ratings and my findings have been that once gas is over $3 a gallon my best cost/value was 93 octane considering the efficiency I gained.

You can also do a drop in filter in the stock air box and a relocated muffler kit for a nominal increase in efficiency, but don't throw a lot of dollars at it as it will only provide a nominal increase in efficiency.

Lastly, not sure what gears you have, but exactly what you mentioned with the gear hunting is an issue associated with not having steep enough gears.

Does the drop in filter in your stock air box by itslef without any muffler mods, provide a more aggressive sound like a CAI? I would just get a CAI but I've read so much about hydro lock.

IMO, the only aggressive sound you are going to get comes out the other end.
