Default prefilter vs air ram

the pre filter doesnt seem like itd force alot of air down but it seems more protected. can u guys tell me some about them and what i should expect if i put them on my jeep?

I was thinking that doing this could cause a vaccum at the opening, and thus actually inhibit the flow of air to the intake. Am I over thinking it?

i was wondering that as well, does the prefilter cut down on the air it allows into the intake? i read about it, just wondered if it wouldnt allow enough of the air to go down. i was also wondering that if the water does get down the snorkel, what happens? thanks for your help, this is all new to me

The old cowl induction hoods on muscle cars worked on this very principle. They created a slight vacuum which actually drew more cool air into the intake.
