Teraflex quick disconnects - Will tires rub ?
For those running the Teraflex quick disconnects, are any of you experiencing tire rub on the pin/link when disconnected ? I know the install instructions clearly state that wheels spacers are required when using these links with factory wheels and larger tires but I'm running 4.7" BS AEV Pintlers and 33" BFG KM2's and would rather not puncture a tire while flexing the suspension. I realize that every lift/wheel/tire combo differs but I'd like to hear from those that are experiencing contact with the tire and those who are not and what setup you're running.
FWIW - I'm considering scrapping my problematic Rubi e-disco in favor of a simpler manual disconnect solution and I like the way the TF quick disconnect links stow when disconnected. I also am not prepared to drop the cash on a Currie or TF S/T sway bar replacement at this time. Any feedback is appreciated.

with the amount of back spacing you have, yes, you will rub the disconnect storage pins. you need to be running about 3.5"-4" of back spacing in order to clear them.
as far as your e-disco goes, really? you want to get rid of it in favor of manual discos? if so, i'll take your e-disco off your hands and will even give you a set of teraflex or jks discos in exchange

It's not that I favor manual over automatic disco's I've just had nothing but problems with this e-disco on my Rubi. When it works it's great. I'm actually on my third "Smart-Bar" unit and now this one seems like it's crapping out on me. It recently re-connected automatically while on the trail (I had reached 18mph in an open area) and the sway bar light has been blinking ever since. I haven't been able to disconnect it since then. I had the same thing happen a little over a year ago as well and went through two complete sway bar units while still under warranty. I don't want to spend the money to have it diagnosed and expensive parts replaced so it will likely be on the For Sale section at some point. I just don't see manually disconnecting to be that much of a chore for all the headache I've been through with this e-disco. Believe me I think it's a great concept and when it works it's great, I just think the e-disco is prone to failure based on all the cases I've read about in the last few days.

understood and, i know a lot of guys who've gone though the same thing before giving up and installing manual discos. back to your original question, it's been my experience that with 4.5" or more back spacing, you will rub the links and storage pins at a full stuff and turn.
