Default Jeep Recall On Steering Stabilisers

The JK's in South Africa are all having the new bigger steering stabiliser installed under a recall by Jeep. Is Jeep in the states doing the same thing or is this recall for the EuroSpec Jeeps only?
It's the same new version of the steering stabiliser that comes stock on the 2010 JK's..
I'm getting mine installed tomorrow. Will post pics.

Nothing here (US) that I can find.

However, if one brings a JK in for a bad SS, a bigger one will be installed.

Does the bigger stabilizer help with death wobble?

Death wobble isn't related to the stabilizer, nor will a larger one cure it.

My factory stabilizer began leaking and was replaced by the much beefier unit, which mounts differently. So far, so good.

My regards,

Widewing

That's the reason for the recall right there. Too many people had leaking issues.

I tried to have mine replaced yesterday when I took mine in for service ... but they denied me because of my "modifications" (wheels, tires, and suspension). Whatever. I went up the road to 4 Wheel Parts and bought the ProComp stabilizer. I honestly can't tell much of a difference...

The MOPAR--and almost any aftermarket--stabilizer should not mount any differently than what you had before. Two bolts ... really easy to remove and install. Differences will be in thickness and internals.
