Default Help needed. Putting new rear springs in.

I am finally getting around to installing the new coils I recieved from Rough Country. I have everything apart, but I can't seem to get the new springs in. I can't get the axle low enough/ springs compressed enough to get them in.

Rear shocks are off, rear sway bars are disconnected, brake line bracket is disconnected.

Any tips on getting these in?

Thanks for the help

I went back and looked through some of the other posts where guys have changed out the springs they received from RC. I must have received the wrong springs. This is the difference in length of the ones I received.

Just cut the new springs a 1/2" to a 1" , that would be easy enough. Just kidding, hope you get the trouble fixed.

USe a spring compressor. Have someone stick a large pry bar into the axle and step on it. They will slip right in...

EDIT: In that pic looks like you have a front coil next to a rear coil

i did not have to disconnect any track bar. make sure your jack is going low enough to let your rear axle reach full droop. mine wasn't. Also, unsnap one of the clips holding in your loomed wiring harness, that becomes the next tightest part after your brake line. then you jack up one side really tight as you watch the loom and brake line on the other side for stretching. Should get it low enough to get the spring in.

I had the same problem with the new springs. Putting in the old springs I didn't have to loosen the trackbar but the new springs I did and they went in fine. The springs in the pic look a lot longer than the 2.5.

Well.....just as I think I'm starting to get the hang of working on my jeep, something like this comes up and makes me feel like a complete idiot. I sent an e-mail to Ben at RC questioning the length of the coils I received. It turns out that the shorter set of coils go in the rear, and the longer ones go up front. Unfortunately, nothing was labeled in the box I received and it never occured to me to try to put the shorter ones in the rear. This is my wife's DD, so I had to put everything back together yesterday so she could drive it today. Now I need to take it all apart again to get the new coils back in. I guess another lesson learned in my process of becoming a weekend mechanic.
