Default Should a Smittybilt XRC8 go an Unlimited?

I am looking at buying an XRC8 with syntetic line for my Rubicon unlimited. The plan for now, is to use a mounting plate. (Someone is willing to sell me an unopened one for $300 with synthetic)
Is the winch strong enough to pull an Unlimited?
Will my front sag and will I need spacers? (I am planing on using a plate for now)

Any other things I should consider?

Cheers,

-e

I have the xrc-8 on my unlimited bc I also got a killer deal. It hasnt failed me yet. A xrc-10 would obviosly be better but the 8 does the job

Thanks for all the advice I just picked up the winch. If you guys can help me with one last bit. Should I go Rough Country Winch Plate or Smitty Built SRC front bumper? ($100 difference in price)
It's not my dream bumper, but not terrible looking. I cannot justify spending much more at this point.

Thanks again.

Thumbs up

I have the smittybilt, no winch though. And I like the bumper. Have knicked a few things and it stands up fine. The install was a little frustrating, but thats what you can count on with smittybilt. For the price its a good bumper! If you do go with smittybilt, you have to attach the winch to the bumper before you mount the bumper onto the vehicle. Just a little note

The evo bumper is interesting. It seems like it leaves a lot exposed. How involved is it to flip the disconnect motor? Most of the photos I have seen are on Jeeps with 37" or bigger. Would it look silly on a stock Rubi?

What issues did you run into? Does it cover as low as the stock bumper?

I have both the winch with syn line and the SRC bumper, and have never had problems with either. I got hte bumper for $300 through 4wheelparts, not $400 like at QT.

The only problem that I ran into was when I was mounting the bumper onto the frame. 2 or 3 of the holes didnt line up exactly, so I just took a file and filed in the direction need. Took me an extra half hour. To me it was worth it. And I think it covers enough. Dont remember how much my stock covered.
Hope that helps

IMO, if you plan to eventually lift, bigger tires, etc... go with the EVO bumper. the coating will be better and material will be stronger. if the only reason you dont like the EVO is because it might look funny on a stock jeep but plan to eventually mod it out, get it.
