Default HELP - Something wrong with Jeep after accident

I recently had an incident with a house - hit the house coming down a steep hill on the property and slid into it going about 20-25MPH. There was significant damage to the house and Jeep.

Damage to Jeep included twisted axle housing, damaged front bumper, lights, flare, etc. - damage to axle housing was due to running a stubby front and hitting the house at a bit of an angle with the front right tire.....

Picked up Jeep today - and something is not right. The exhaust is not loud but it almost feels like a vehicle where the exhaust is going - it seems to have a new vibration and ultra low pitch just above idle that goes away when applying throttle.....

Is it possible that the force caused damage to the exhaust or engine as a whole? I took it to the dealer and they supposedly checked it all but I wonder if it could have been enough to crack something else.

Appreciate any feedback or suggestions on how to troubleshoot....I'm going to call the dealer but wanted some feedback before I do....

In an older vehicle I picked up a car from the repair shop and had a similar problem. It turned out they had knocked a sizeable hole in the exhaust which had some rusting. I would make sure that you can tell all the headers are secure and gasketed. I'd also check the exhaust line that all the sensors are in place and no damage to the exhaust line. How's the power feel? Also, make sure the muffler has no damage.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your wreck. I hope everyone including the homeowner came away unharmed.

Hiya Smiley- I do crash repair for a living, sounds like you could have a couple of possibilities- The exhaust could be bent and barely touching another component underneath. You could have a bent or broken motor and/or tranny mount causing the exhaust to rub and vibrate. You could have a hole knocked in a pipe, but the sound won't go away above idle with that. You could have an exhaust hanger bracket bent or rubber ring broken. Let your insurance company know, if the repairing body shop is a contracted pro shop for your company then the repairs should be guaranteed, any supplemental damage found should be covered by your original claim. If you have to- take it to a reputable muffler shop, get it looked at by professional exhaust people, if they find something that can be tied to the impact from hitting the house then your insurance company will pick up the tab. Call the claims handler at your insurance company and let him know you are having problems. He will tell you that they will pay additional repairs only if the damage can be tied to your house crash. This is standard industry-wide, so don't get spooked. However if they find a blown exhaust gasket or something such that would be considered normal wear and tear, then the cost will be your baby....Best of Luck!!!

I had an almost identical problem to yours when I picked up our JK after my wife's accident and I promptly returned it about 10 minutes later. It took them a while to locate the problem but it turned out that the motor had shifted slightly from the impact, where the motor mounts attach at the frame. They had to loosen the motor mounts, and readjust the motor to its original position which took care of the problem.

Tin mans spot on, and my guess would be a motor mount.
