TF lift on a Rubicon
I am looking at putting the Teraflex 2.5 coil spring lift onmy 2008 Rubicon 2 dr. The Teraflex website recommends using the stock shocks for Rubicons. I was wondering Why and what are the differences between the Rubicons and other Jeep suspinsions. Why would I not want new shocks?

I went with OME LT shocks. Keep in mind though if you go with longer shocks like the OME LT shocks you'll get more axle droop which is a good thing. But I don't believe the 2.5" teraflex kit comes with the spring alignment spacers that the 3" kit comes with. Those help to get the top of the spring back onto the spring pad if you droop so far that they come off.
I actually started with a TF 3" kit but got 5+" of lift out of it. I ended up swapping the 2.5" coils and ended up with a true 3" of lift. I think this worked out really well for me because I got the spring alignment spaces and extended brake lines which I think are probably appropriate for a 2 door soft top running the 2.5" coils.

I'm running the TF kit with the shock extension...love it. With the bump stops you're not going to over extend the stock shocks with the extension kit. The Rubi stock shocks are good nitro shocks, which is why they recommend keeping them.
So if I go with the stock shocks I will sacrifice some articulation but this is also somthing that can easily be changed later. I want to stay with a lift that will allow me to run 35's but I don't want to have to modify the drive line yet. The 3" lift that gives you 5" might put me in that positon. Unless I leave the HT on and change the front and rear bumpers
