Default Tongue Weight concerns

ok--put my silly worries to rest please.

i want to put a hitch mounted bike rack on my jeep--i've got an or-fab tire carrier, so i need to buy a 20 inch long hitch extender(saw one at tractor supply store). am i screwing with the physics of the hitch with the extension, plus the weight of 2 bikes and the rack?

no right?? it's on gonna be like 100 lbs total..

i don't know what i don't know when it comes to stuff like this..

thanks
steve

I put 100lbs on mine not long ago ... 40lb Hitch hauler and some luggage and stuff with no issues. I actually stood on the hitch hauler first and there was no flex at all from the hitch ... so that's about 240lbs total weight.

all depends on the bike. If you have full blowen DH rigs you will be close to the limit but if you have 2 lite road bikes you wont even come close
