Default Valet Denied Doorless JK

Thought this was funny. I stayed in Atlantic City, NJ Saturday night and was denied hotel valet parking for not having doors or the roof. They said somebody could get in and take stuff (it was empty).

They were afraid of assuming liability for an unlockable vehicle. No big deal, I parked it. I'll call ahead next time I plan on getting valet.

Personally I dont let anybody touch my vehicles. Where I live, Valets are the Norm. In fact some placeds of business have mandatory Valet Parkers. If thats the case then I go elsewhere. I dont want somebody Finger F'n my ride. There was a reported case here where the Valets used the a Vehicle to smoke dope in and then proceeded to have OBD (operation bone down in the back seat) IMHO it's better just to park your own ride. They did you a favor by refusing to park you and you saved the tip money. More saved tip money= More jeep parts

I'm the Guest Service MNGR of Hotel Monaco and Doorman. I've been a tipped employee pretty much all my life. And thanks to all the generous tippers in the world you help pay for my MODS But I do give exceptional service and don't expect to be compensated otherwise. We park any and everything. And as far as the jackass at that restaurant, he soon will be out of a job with that attitude. If someone demands to park their own rig I make exceptions. I understand not every Valet or Valet service is honest. I've been at the Hotel 14 years and I can tell you I have a good crew My Jeep sits right in front and Guests always comment about it I love my JEEP

If I'm ever staying out your way I'll look you up!

I wasn't upset at the valet, I just wanted to them to assume liability for the night. A ten or twenty dollar tip is way cheaper than a thousand dollar deductible should some vandal have at it.

Last time I self-parked in a hotel garage I found my glovebox on the passenger floor. Silver lining was a new Tuffy glovebox way ahead of schedule.

I am a restaurant manager. And the only think i can say is:
Are you serious? He did say that?
He should not be a manager. Call corporate and explain the situation.
If it's small mom and pop type of restaurant.....they won't be in business for much longer.

i run parking lots and valet for a living, and i will valet any chance i get, let someone else park it for a change. they have to be fully insured to operate, and i am fully insured, accidents do happen but thats life. i would never not valet because i was driving to nice of a car. ive valet dolorians, Ferraris, bentleys etc...most of the guys in the nice cars are the big tippers, and just toss you the keys, its the average cars that the guys are usuallys dicks and get all dont scratch my car lol.
plus we always make fun of people that think there cars are too nice to park with us....
as far as the restaurant valets, chances are the valets dont work for restaurant they are a separate company, and therefore dont have the interest of the guests dining experience.

I avoid valet parking like the plague. I have friends who used to valet, and the stories that they tell me make me never want to valet.

I only valet here in Vegas. It's part of what this city is about.

The only place that's ever denied me was Hard Rock (just this past Friday) because their valet isn't secure. But funny enough, for $20, he had no problem parking it right up front next to the Aston and Bentley that was sitting there.

Loved it, cuz it was all dirty, topless and doorless.

In fact, this town is easy like that...any time you pull up to a "valet full" sign, I usually pull the $20 and ask, "You sure you can't find a spot for it?" There's always a spot.
