Is this the first time you have used the K&N filter also?

I normally swear by RP oil and K&N filters. But not in my JK. For whatever reason, my JK doesn't like either. My startup noise was worse, and my service-based oil change notification would come on at around 1500 miles both times I used the combo.

I still use both in my other vehicles, but the JK is now exempt from RP/K&N.

yes, tried the fram, mopar, purolator before - less running engine tic too so maybe more the combination or the oil. Use royal Purple only in my bikes - swear by it. reduced running temp on my harley.. just my preference

JK Freak, there was a service bulletin about the oil light coming on early, did you check that out by any chance?

I tried a K&N filter and after about 2 weeks I got the dry knock back. So I switched to wix and I haven't had a problem since then. Oh, I use royal purple as well ever since 3000 miles.
