Default need serious help..gurus and shop guys chime in please! vibration problem

Ok guys/gals...I need help with this one and im calling all the big guns out for help also. I had a previous thread about this but wanted a fresh look into it.

I have a steering wheel vibration. it vibrates/wobbles about 1/2 side to side at times. But....sometimes it will not. It almost feels like the start of death wobble but does it whenever it wants and on smooth as glass roads. When it is not going side to side there is a high frequency vibration. Enough so that it vibrate my driver side mirror to the point it blurrs headlights at night and i cant even see the cars behind me. Its also a side to side vibration. Now...when i put my hand on my horn button and drive down the road at any speed ( from 10mph to 80 ) i get a "thump thump thump thump" feeling in the steering column. Almost feels like a bearing with a bad spot spinning. This is my side to side vibration. I just dont know what it is. I can feel a knocking in my steering wheel that everyone complins about also.

Now come my list of me trying to correct this problem over the last 6 months. All have failed in fixing this and its getting worse.

See sig for specs on jeep

Installed new ball joints - they were bad - no fix
Installed new front shocks - no fix
Intalled new axle shafts - no fix
Installed new axle u joints - no fix ( In between new axles and u joints i pulled my shafts and drove around for a few weeks. this means the diff wasnt spinning and the front drive shaft was not spinning eliminating these parts as an option of potential problem areas)
Installed new unit bearings - no fix
2 allignments by 2 different shops - all in spec - no fix
installed currie adjustable LCA's - no fix ( pinion is correct )
New front drive shaft - no fix
tires balanced 2x now -no fix.
new monster TF track bar - no fix
torqued every single bolt loaded on the ground 3x now - no fix
new drag link- no fix
new steering stabilizer - no fix

Now...only options left are
1) steering box - box has a little play in it at the shaft. NOthing i would consider "bad" but under road pressure and tire...who knows.
2) Rotors - Still plenty of pad and didnt appear to be warped. Doesnt pulse under braking but...you can feel the knocking thumps when i break in the pedal and steering wheel.
3) tires - half tread on km2's. Wearing perfectly. rotated every 6k miles since new. The vibration has not moved with the tire rotation
4) Tie rod - Looks good and according to alignment shop still in good shape.

After those 4 items...im out of stuff to replace.

Im going broke...im pulling out my hair...I need help please. Thank you in advance for taking your time to read this long post. My rig is driving like complete shit and not fun anymore. Lets figure this out!

Not too sure, but I wonder if a tire is starting to seperate.(Ply seperation) Is there a way to throw on some other wheels and tire for now. Not sure if a ply starting to seperate would show up on a balance machine. Anyways good luck on this.

I know you said you have had your tires rotated twice, but seeing that you have 35" km2's I would still point toward that. Especially if you are running on 15's. Even if you arent running on 15's, km2's are hard to balance. I had to have mine balanced three times at two shops before they got it right. If you are running 15" rims, the wheel weights are pretty far away from the outside edge of the tire. You might try dynabeads and ditch the wheel weights all together. They can be pretty pricey too though. Maybe start with 8 oz of bb's or airsoft bb's in the front for a DIY just as a diagnosis. Good luck.

Also... Maybe try running your rears up front. And don't forget that the KM2's need rotating every 3000 miles or they will wear funny

Have you had your front up in the air and tried to turn the wheels by hand ? Try turning by hand and try to feel for something griding/binding, like brake rotor against caliper, caliper against wheel etc.

I am thinking tires as well. I have 33" KM'S on my F250, and they wobble bad from 40 to 50 MPH, but they are about 1/4 tread.

I know my issue is tires because I did a test and with some Pro -Comp AT's and the wobble disappeared.

what is your caster and toe? OEM spec is not where you want your front end to be aligned at with a lift.

I had a similar issue, turned out I had twisted the passenger side rear axle shaft. It was twisted at the splines. I kept thinking it was something in the front end the whole time. Found it when I was having the 5:13s installed.

Mine did the same thing very intermittently, it turned out to be a sticking front right caliper.
