Default TeraFlex 4" kit or 5" Trail Master (Need Advise)

I'm looking at putting on 37" tires and need advise on what is the best lift for the price. I do mostly moderate to semi hard rock crawling. I was looking at the full flex TeraFlex 4" lift or the 5" Trail Master. Obviously the TeraFlex is more in price, but I'm willing to pay the difference if it is that much better of a lift. Need Help????

i have the TF, and run 37's with exnon flat fenders. i had to trim a little in the rear fender well and trim the stock rubi sliders. it all works very well with out rubbing.

From what I've seen the 4" Teraflex yields just over 5" of lift. If I had to pick between the two I would go with Teraflex just based on the positive feedback and from what I've seen in person on the trials.

I currently run the TF 4" lift with 35s and could easily fit 37s with flat fenders (I have after market front/rear bumpers, rock rails, winch, etc) and cutting the rear wheel well pinch seam as many others on the forum have done.

For everyday feedback, I feel this kit rides better than stock and is very trail ready, no complaints

I just finished installing the TrailMaster 5" lift and 37s arrived today. I looked at both kits but others in my area have went with the TM and are happy with it. Also comes with the drive shafts. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the parts.

BTW, I installed it myself. Having two floor jacks was a must.

If it was me I would be going for the Teraflex kit. Their customer service is simply the best you will ever find! There products are simply awesome and stand up to the test of time. I have installed 4 different lift kits from Teraflex on 4 different JK's and everyone of them went in smooth and every one of the owners are very happy they went with Teraflex.

I made the same decision you are contemplating now, a few weeks ago. I went with the Trail master but am using Bilstien shocks instead of the SSV shocks. I bought it mainly because of the price, everything the TF has + both driveshafts (must have for either kit). I dont think you can go wrong with TF but I can tell you that the Parts in the Trail Master kit are solid. I was a little hesitant but couldnt find any bad feedback so I said what the hell? And am very happy so far. There is a thread titled "Trail Master Lift" in this section with a lot of info and a few pics of my jeep flexed up (the white Jeep). Good Luck!

Im going with the TrailMaster. I know lots of other companies are getting good reviews but I dont plan on keeping this lift forever. I want to be able to hit the trail with spare shafts and clear 37-38in tires for under $2000. At some point I will go with a whole new suspension from the guys at EVO.

From what I have read and seen the TrailMaster is the most complete for the price. With the other kits you might need drive shafts and that can add over a grand to the cost of the kit. THis takes the TeraFlex kit from $2200 to $3200, while the TrailMaster sits around $1700+ Shipping.

I'm a little biased with which one you should go with. You won't make a bad choice going with either brand you choose. Both kits will allow you to fit 37" tires. I will tell you that I had the Bushwacker pocket flares on my JK and I decided to switch to the flat fender version because my tires did rub when stuffed in the front. I could have trimmed it to aleviate the rubbing, but... I really liked the look of the flat fenders so it was an easy switch to make. No rubbing with the flat fenders.

Good luck with your new lift.
