Rancho9000 shocks, anyone running them?
Just wondering if anyone is running the Rancho shocks and how their feel compares to the stock Rubicon shocks? I've had them on both my last two RAM trucks, and was able to get 100K plus miles out of them. In that application, they felt a lot better than the under damped stock units, and the adjustability was nice when towing my RV. But I'm concerned that on the Jeep they will be a lot stiffer than stock Rubi shocks which are designed for compliance right? Any feedback regarding their durability and feel would be greatly appreciated. The fact that they have a nice rebate going on right now, and the way they performed on other vehicles is leading me towards Rancho's again.
I run them and really like how they feel. I don't run any lower than 4. 5 is about the same as stock shocks. Bump up to 6/7 if I tow. 1 is mush. 9 is harsh.
I kept breaking the rear adjuster knobs off in the rocks. I put on a pair of Kilby Shock Skids and that did the trick. I put a 1 1/2" hole where the adjuster is so it is still quite easy to adjust. The fronts are pretty well protected as they are somewhat tucked out of harm's way.

Just installed my new 9000xl shocks on my JK yesterday and the ride is definitely smoother that it was stock and smoother than it was w/ my fabtech shocks. I still have some tinkering to do, but it will be nice to have soft shocks on the road (b/c its my dd), and stiff shocks on the trail.
I've been very happy with mine. As stated, 1 is very soft and 9 is harsh. But you have multiple options in between to dial-in the ride YOU want. Not what some manufacturer says you need/want. These shocks make towing my holiday trailer much better with a higher setting. As far as durability, I do have my doubts that they will last more than 3 years or so though.
