I am going to be installing pro steer ball joints. I know people have already done them I just wanted to make sure im not trying to bite off more than I can chew. Does anyone have any writeups or advice before I begin? Im just following the service manual for the install.

hmmm, how are the service manual instructions?
and where did you buy it and how much?
i've been holding off on my ball joint install myself due to lack of knowledge since i've never done that before but on a side note i never installed a lift kit before either and now can tear apart my suspension and remove my axles...i guess it'll be one of those things that after you do it you'll say to yourself "that was'nt too bad ".
i need to get a service manual myself....
keep posting as to your progress and good luck..

if you have the right tools, it's not that hard to do. this write-up is for a tj but, it's pretty much the same thing...

X2 on the right tools. Started out with the Harbor Freight Four Wheel Drive Ball Joint Kit ht tp://www.harborfreight.com/four-wheel-drive-ball-joint-service-kit-4065.html and had to pick up the Master Adapter Kit ht tp://www.harborfreight.com/14-piece-master-ball-joint-adapter-set-66958.html because of the weird size of the ball joints. If you're handier than I am and have the stuff laying around, you can probably make the correct size pipe work instead of having to grab the Adapter Set. I found the instructions that came with the Pro Steers to be great with no additional writeup really necessary.

BTW If you're putting in RCV Axles with these, I have some extra pointers for you. Let me know.

Ha! probably not....not to bad?....every time I do ball joints I say....damn, that sucked...but still, I'd rather do it than pay to have it done.
