Rockhard rear bumper install...help!!!!!
For the life of me i cant get the two center bolts through the frame to thread into the bumper i have already taken it off once and drilled out the holes to the frame. Any suggestions!!!!
Can you line up at least one of the holes with a punch or small prybar. There must be something in the way if it won't line up for you to get a bolt through. Any pics of your problem may be helpful?? If you loosen off the other mounting bolts, you may be able to move it to where you need to get the center bolts through then re-tighten everything.
Have you got the bumper all the way into the frame? I had to take a 4x4 and stand it up on the outside of the bumper were it lined up with the side of the frame and slowly banged the bumper into the frame! Going from one side to the next till the side frame mounts lined up. After that the center bolts went in fine. Over all it was kind of a pain in the ass. I still need to take my tire carrier off and add somemore shims because the tire carrier is starting to sag. That' just going to be a project in itself. Hope this is helpful.
I have hammered the thing on 3 times and off twice . I have it on and managed to get one bolt threaded. It looks like i didnt drill out the other hole enough though everytime i get it threaded its crossed.
I really dont want to take this thing off for the 3rd time

It took me a couple of trys, but one went in correct. For the second one, I spun a nut onto it and tapered the end on a grinder and spun the nut off to keep the thread intact. Then the bolt started and screwed right in.
Rock Hard 4x4 parts don't fit, period. Just had a Rock Hard 4x4 Parts front bumper put on my Jeep over the weekend, and it took 5 hours to install a bumper. The holes for the winch were not even close to being in the right place, and caused the winch to be offset by several inches, ... to the point where the hole in the bumper for the cable would have only been able to spool the cable onto half of the winch. The bottom and back edge of the bumper also hit the motor for the sway bar disconnect, and had to be trimmed with a cut off tool.

Sixgun i did that the first time i took the bumper off i figured that was the problem... No help then i widened the holes the second time...it has helped some but it seems like the bolts are still not out far enough when i finally got the one thereaded the bumper woulnt go back all the way because of the angle so i had to take it back out. Im gonna start all over again tonigh and widen the holes a little more if i cant get them in with crashers plan to grind the end of the bolts!!!

Other than a 10 minute set back with the center 2 bolts of the rear bumper, both front and rear went on with ease. The front took all of 20 minutes and everything lined up perfectly. The winch was centered, but too close to the grill to get the cover on, so I added a washer between the bumper and frame in the top 4 holes. I couldn't have asked for a better fit. Great looking bumpers and solid with no rattles.
