How are you adjusting the caster and re-centering the front axle?

You have an auto, what will you do if/when the front driveshaft rubs the tranny pan due to the lift height?

Would I have to worry about the axles and driveshaft with any lift or just the zone. And what parts would be. Missing from the zone that I would still need to buy.

You wont need to worry about the axles at all, but if you have an automatic, you'll probably tear your driveshaft boot the first time you really flex your suspension. That will happen with practically any lift >2 inches that includes longer shocks.

Only additional part I see that you will probably want is an adjustable front trackbar (to recenter your front axle). I know Zone carries those, but I don't know of anyone with one, so the quality is a crap shoot. If you want to correct your caster and pinion angle, you'll need adjustable upper and lower control arms.

I've heard good things about the zone kit and was considering it myself at one time. When I found out about the $500 Rancho rebate, I decided to get their 4" sport kit because it cost me less than Zone and it had tried and true components w/ a lifetime warranty from a seasoned suspension manufacturer. Not to mention Rancho is a sponsoring manufacturer so you're supporting a company that makes this forum possible.

Talk to Jim and he'll probably be able to get you close to $100 off of their website price if you're interested.

Hope that helps you out.

Either a limiting strap or an aftermarket driveshaft like a Tom Woods!

I run the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift and have not had any issues with my front driveshaft. However, my brother in law runs a similar setup and tore his boot on his first run. He got it repalced under warrnaty and has since bought a limiting strap which will reduce his travel so it won't happen again. Think it was a $20 item!

Not sure why he had problems and I haven't...yet. I have a Rubi and usually have my sway bar disconnected (electronic). he runs his with his sway bar disconnected (held up by a zip tie). I am running Bilstein shocks for a 2" lift which fits lifts up to 3" or so. he is running TF shocks which maybe extend a little more...maybe that is the issue...

See post 6 here for some preventative measures to make it last a bit longer.

You won't need a new shaft right away. Just keep an eye on it. Look for ripping/tearing on the boot from contact with the corner of the tranny pan and/or crossmember skid. Also keep an eye on the rzeppa (tcase end of the shaft). It may start spitting grease due to binding from the angles. When it loses enough grease and dries out, it'll start making noise. That is when you should be looking to replace...

I opted for the nicer 9000xl shocks because its my daily driver. They're adjustable so I can run them soft on the road, and stiff on the trail. My total price for the lift and shocks was I think $466 after the $500 rebate. I had to get the slightly more expensive red coil kit (same exact kit, but the coils are painted red) because they were out of stock of the black coil kit for the foreseeable future and I didn't want to miss the $500 rebate promotion.

You can save some $$$ if you go w/ the 500 series shocks, but I hear they are a bit too stiff for on road driving.
