Default XRC Rear Bumper w/ Tire Carrier - Two Latches?

I was installing my new XRC Rear Bumper System today.. and for some reason I have two different latch types. Is this.. so I can just choose which one I want? Unfortunately I'm missing the bolts I need for my tire carrier as well!

Yeah there's nothing more frustrating than doing an install and coming up short on parts!!!

I contacted Smittybilt, and they apologized, and said the new pieces will arrive in 3-5 days.

There's 2 because you get to choose what style handle you want to run with it. And I feel your pain man... I waited 6 weeks for that triangle piece that holds the carrier to the bumper. It kept pissing me off and off to the point where I called every damn day until it got here.

It's a shame...After dealing back and forth about this rear bumper for over 2 months (on back order) and then another 6 weeks for the spare parts I've given up on them as a company all together and will purchase elsewhere. I'm sorry but this kind of business leaves a bad taste in my mouth and it shouldn't be tolerated by any consumer.

i don't blame you at all. i mean you want to buy products that you can depend on and know that you will have all the hardware required to install THEIR product. and them to basically give the run around to their customers. i mean common! what are they trying to do make their company tank?

Well.. I just got my parts in today. It looks like they sent me the metal bumper insert mounts and a bag of bolts.. I'm not sure why they sent me the metal insert plates.. but.. whatever I guess.

We'll see if we can get it mounted with what they sent me.

Yeah... Didn't happen again. I had to come up with my own nuts and bolts to finally put everything together.

Besides missing the correct mounting hardware.. the bumper itself seems pretty sturdy, and I'm happy with the end product.

Also.. the lack of quality instructions was frustrating. Not that it is very complicated putting a bumper on.. but when the instructions are for the SRC and not the XRC.. and the instructions don't match the nuts & bolts that you have in your package. It can get frustrating very quickly. It makes you believe you are installing something wrong.

I do give kudos to the customer service department, they were very courteous and willing to help. Maybe there is a miscommunication between their customer service and quality/shipping department.

Either way, I'm happy with the bumper.
