Default 15 inch wheels came in and they rub..spacer question

Hello all,
So I ordered 15x8 Unique 252 wheels 3.75 BS with 35X12.5X15 KM2. I took the gamble with the 15inch wheels and obviously lost. Not only is the front of the calipers rubbing like most people, but the whole side of the caliper too. I can barely fit the rim onto the studs without them falling off. I know people are going to say grind it down, but you really have to see in person how much is hitting the rim because no way is 1/8 going to do the job.

So now my next option is to run some spacers. So far people are saying 1.5 spiders are a reasonable choice. My question is with 3.75 BS and 1.5inch spacers, how much should my tires stick out? Has anyone ran this option? Any help will be greatly appreciated because I'm going CRAZY thinking of what to do with my new setup that doesn't fit.

Well, the simple math answer is:

Stock BS is 6.25
6.25 - 3.75 = 2.5" further than stock
2.5 + 1.5 for the spacer = 4" further than stock

Then add half the width difference of the new wider tires? (Guessing here... Stock is 10". If you go to a 12.50 that's 2.5" wider. Half on each side. So the outside of the tire will be 4" + 1.25" = 5.25" further out? On both sides... )

Anyway, guys on 40's may be doing this ( I think planman is, may be worth a message to him if he doesn't reply to this thread...)

I'd recommend returning the wheels and picking up a set of MB72 or MB Chaos 5's in 15". They are lighter and you wouldn't have to mess around with spacers or grinding the calipers. Here's a link for more information. The matte black MB72 is still on back order for a few weeks but if you are interest in the Chaos 5 let me know, we have plenty instock. We also have some of the 15x8 machined MB72's available.

ok so I called discount tire direct and ask them to review my order and it ended up that the wrong BS was ordered...they ordered a -12 instead of a -19 by accident. I'm actually in the process of swapping them out with the MB72's to make sure they fit without any issues. What a great company, they said that I didn't have to worry about shipping and were very helpful.

cheers!

Im glad I chimed in. Neither of the offsets in the 15" Unique will clear your brakes. The problem is how steel wheels are made. The face of wheel is the same in both offsets the only difference is the location within the barrel. You'll be very happy with the MB72. These are on back order right now but if you can wait a few weeks it will be worth it. Thank you for your support.
